LUGAW OVERLOAD Photo from Lugaw Pilipinas Marilao Facebook Page 📍 The Hunt: Discovering Lugaw Pilipinas I was on the hunt for a quick snack when I stumbled across Lugaw Pilipinas tucked inside Casa Milaben Building, Brgy. Discover Harborside: The Boulevard’s Best-Kept Dining Secret

Image
Photo from Harborside FB Page We arrived in Surigao City just in time for lunch—tired, hungry, and craving something comforting. After settling into our hotel room, we asked the friendly staff for dining recommendations. Their top tip? Head to the boulevard. It’s lined with food spots, perfect for choosing what suits your cravings. With the midday heat at full blast, we were on the lookout for an air-conditioned place to cool off while we ate. That’s when we stumbled upon Harborside. A quick glance at their posted menu showed some promising options, so we stepped inside. We ordered Kalderetang Kambing—my husband’s favorite—along with baked scallops, buttered chicken, and tinolang native na manok. The Kalderetang Kambing was wonderfully tender and impressively clean-tasting, without the usual gaminess of goat meat. The only thing I noted was its sweetness, which was a bit stronger than expected. A slightly toned-down sweetness might allow the dish’s classic savory richness to shi...

KALUGURAN'S ALL DAY SILOG FUSION IN MEXICO PAMPANGA

Image
Me and my sister went to my property earlier in Mexico, Pampanga. Before heading home, I invited her to have lunch and we searched for the best places to eat in Mexico, Pampanga on Google. That's just how I am – I always want to try new dining spots, especially the best ones in the area. We came across Kaluguran's with a 4.8-star rating. Since it was the closest to us at the time, we decided to go there. Kaluguran's isn't located on the main highway or main road, but if you're in the area and have a vehicle, it's worth visiting. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very cozy ambiance with a native vibe, making it feel like home. Currently, there's no air conditioning, but the staff we spoke to mentioned that they will have one soon. Despite that, they do have air coolers and fans, and the place is well-ventilated, so It didn't feel too hot, to think that I am very sensitive to a hot weather. When the waitress approached us, I asked her about their bests...

KURVADA - ONE OF THE GO-TO EATERIES IN SIARGAO

Image
Kurvada is also one of the go-to eateries in Siargao. It is visited not only by locals but also by foreigners. In our few days of going around Siargao, we didn't find any carinderia in the area as we are looking for one 'coz it's also boring to only eat at restaurants and hotels everytime right? And our service/tour guide was not wrong in recommending this place. THE PLACE Kurvada is not a flashy restaurant, in fact, it's just like a big carinderia with a native vibe, which is full of dishes that you can choose from. The place is not air-conditioned but it does have fans, it's up to you to choose a good seat for yourself. The patrons here are mixed, there are locals and foreigners eating so expect a lot of people when you come here during lunch and dinner. THE FOOD With the number of dishes to choose from, I prefer not to eat rice so that I can try more dishes and not get full right away. That day I ordered only vegetables because we had been eating meat for several...

THE BEST BURGER JOINT IN BRGY.IBAYO MARILAO BULACAN

Image
Are you looking for a solid burger joint that will truly satisfy your burger cravings? Try Basta Burger, located in Brgy. Ibayo, Marilao, Bulacan.   I tried their burger for the first time when my husband bought it for our snack. Their burger is amazing – not only is it big and affordable, but it's also incredibly flavorful because they use and grill 100% pure beef in their secret recipe. When you order this, you'll definitely be fully and completely satisfied. Sometimes, when we have it for a snack, we skip dinner because you can still feel the burger you ate until evening. Basta Burger was established back in 2017, so by now, they've truly mastered the exact taste of a delicious burger that suits the Filipino palate. But hey, it's not only popular among Filipinos – even the foreigners I've recommended it to have loved it. My sister once brought her Malaysian guest here, and you know what? He really liked it to the point that they went back to Basta Burger 3-4 ti...

CRAVING FOR SOMETHING SWEET AND SALTY AT TRINA'S CAFE MARILAO

Image
Trina's Cafe Marilao Bulacan Today is Thursday afternoon when I went to my condo in Marilao. I inspected and supervised the electrician who was working on the lights in the condo's restroom. While I was there, my caretaker accompanied me, and we had a conversation. As we talked, I noticed that it would be nicer to chat while having a drink and a snack. So, I invited her to have a snack at  Trina's Cafe in Marilao, Bulacan, which is conveniently close to the condo. So, we arrived and went inside. Actually, this is my second time visiting Trina's; the first time, I was alone and just looking for a place to hang out because I really enjoy relaxing and having coffee in coffee shops, especially because of the unique aroma of coffee. Since I liked the ambiance and their menu here, I know I'll come back to this place, and it will become one of my favorite places to go to. I took their menu, and we ordered food. I ordered two dark mocha Frappuccino and donuts for both me...

Foggy Mountain Cookhouse: A Gastronomic Retreat Above the Clouds

Image
While waiting for our foods. Foggy Mountain Cookhouse: A Hidden Gem in Baguio   I first spotted Foggy Mountain Cookhouse while hunting online for Baguio’s must-visit eateries. Those mouthwatering photos on Google and social media promised farm-fresh flavors and artful plating—so I knew I had to experience it for myself.   Booking & Concept   Because every dish is cooked to order, you’ll need to book in advance. I called ahead, and the friendly staff reminded me: “No reservation, no entry.” It’s a small trade-off for guaranteed freshness and top-notch quality.   The Scenic Ascent   When we arrived, the entrance gate was locked—no problem, a quick call and someone buzzed us through. The drive up is steep and winding, but it only added to the adventure. Our sturdy little car chugged up the mountain without a hitch, and suddenly we were above the clouds.   Ancestral Ambiance   Stepping out of the car felt like ...
