Another "Go To" Spot in Surigao City
It was already lunchtime when we arrived in Surigao City, so we were hungry and tired at that time. We settled in our hotel room first and then went out to find a place to eat. We asked the hotel staff where it would be ideal to dine, and they recommended walking along the boulevard because there were many dining options in that stretch, allowing us to choose well. Due to the extreme heat in Surigao at that time, we looked for a restaurant with air conditioning so we could eat comfortably. While walking, we came across Harborside; we noticed that there was air conditioning in the restaurant and their menu was posted outside, so we checked if there was anything we liked on their menu before deciding to go inside. So far, their food looked delicious, so we entered and placed our order. We ordered Kalderetang Kambing because it is my husband's favorite, baked scallops, buttered chicken, and tinolang native na manok.
Their Kalderetang Kambing is delicious, the meat is very tender, and there is no unpleasant taste or smell typically associated with goat meat, indicating that the dish was prepared cleanly. It is tasty, but I have only observed that its sweetness is somewhat pronounced. It would be better if it were not overly sweet, perhaps with just a slight twist so that the true flavor of the caldereta is still discernible.

Their baked scallops are also extremely delicious, not fishy at all, which is proof that what was served to us was fresh. However, once again, the sweet flavor is predominant here. Perhaps next time they could add more cheese to balance the sweetness with saltiness.

Their buttered chicken is also a good choice. The flavor is just right, and the frying of the chicken is also perfect; it is crispy yet still juicy on the inside.

The native chicken tinola was the most favored dish among all. This is because it was made with native chicken, resulting in a more flavorful broth. Secondly, its simple preparation and taste provided balance to all the dishes we consumed. As you know, we Filipinos prefer to sip hot soup alongside our lunch or dinner, right?

Overall, our dining experience at Harborside was satisfactory and worth it. In fact, we did not immediately realize that Harborside is one of the MUST GO places to dine when visiting Surigao City, Im glad we went to the right place.
So, if you will be visiting the area, you may check on their place by going to this address:
Purok Baybay Alliance, City Boulevard, Surigao City, 8400 Surigao del Norte
