KURVADA - ONE OF THE GO-TO EATERIES IN SIARGAO
Kurvada is also one of the go-to eateries in Siargao. It is visited not only by locals but also by foreigners. In our few days of going around Siargao, we didn't find any carinderia in the area as we are looking for one 'coz it's also boring to only eat at restaurants and hotels everytime right? And our service/tour guide was not wrong in recommending this place.
THE PLACE
Kurvada is not a flashy restaurant, in fact, it's just like a big carinderia with a native vibe, which is full of dishes that you can choose from. The place is not air-conditioned but it does have fans, it's up to you to choose a good seat for yourself. The patrons here are mixed, there are locals and foreigners eating so expect a lot of people when you come here during lunch and dinner.
THE FOOD
With the number of dishes to choose from, I prefer not to eat rice so that I can try more dishes and not get full right away. That day I ordered only vegetables because we had been eating meat for several days since we arrived in Siargao. I ordered Beans, Monggo, Okoy and Vegetable Lumpia while my husband and his officemate orders Spicy Squid, Calamares and Monggo as well. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasty, and they have a lot of servings here, that's why we didn't regret trying to eat here, although it's super hot at that time.
THE PRICE
The price of their food is totaly reasonable. To give you an idea, the price of what we ate was 520.00 pesos only, for the three of us, including our drinks. A big difference when compared to our bills from other restaurants in the area. So it's no wonder that this place is popular, apart from being delicious, it's cheap and the servings are plentiful enuf to fill your tummy.
THEIR SERVICE
The Kurvada crews were very attentive and acted quickly. Honestly, I am amazed at the way their sales and service system works here. They have many staffs and crews who will assist their patrons, you will show the staff your chosen dish and they will spoon it for you, when you are done choosing, they will give you your plate and tell you to take a picture of it for payment of the bill later. After you finish eating, you go to the cashier and show him the pictures of your orders, and it will be calculated for your total amount due. This system is very ideal because it makes the process of ordering, serving and paying much faster.
LOCATION
Kurvada is located along Tourism Road Purok 3 in Siargao. It is not difficult to find because it is just along the highway and is in the center of the action in all of Siargao. If you are a little far from this place, you can reach it by riding a tricycle with a fare of 30.00 pesos per person.
Don't forget to stop by here if you're going to Siargao, I'm sure you'll be full and satisfied without burning a hole in your pocket.
