KALUGURAN'S ALL DAY SILOG FUSION IN MEXICO PAMPANGA

Me and my sister went to my property earlier in Mexico, Pampanga. Before heading home, I invited her to have lunch and we searched for the best places to eat in Mexico, Pampanga on Google. That's just how I am – I always want to try new dining spots, especially the best ones in the area. We came across Kaluguran's with a 4.8-star rating. Since it was the closest to us at the time, we decided to go there.



Kaluguran's isn't located on the main highway or main road, but if you're in the area and have a vehicle, it's worth visiting. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very cozy ambiance with a native vibe, making it feel like home. Currently, there's no air conditioning, but the staff we spoke to mentioned that they will have one soon. Despite that, they do have air coolers and fans, and the place is well-ventilated, so It didn't feel too hot, to think that I am very sensitive to a hot weather.
When the waitress approached us, I asked her about their bestsellers. She said their bestsellers are their silog dishes, and for the main course is their crispy kare-kare. My sister ordered the Bicol Express because it's her favorite, while I followed the waitress's recommendation and ordered their kare-kare.



When our orders arrived, we immediately tasted them. After having our first bite, I can say that Google didn't lead us astray. The kare-kare was excellent, one of the best I've tried actually. The pork toppings were truly crispy, and the peanut sauce had a perfect balance of sweetness that complemented the savory and delicious shrimp paste (bagoong) Solid! My sister is not fond of this dish but when she tried it, she finished 2 cups of rice with this kare-kare. As for their Bicol Express, it was also tasty, with just the right spice and blend of ginger and coconut milk. However, the pork used seemed to be from a fatty part, so I think it would have been better if they included some lean meat as well, as some people like us avoid fats for health reasons.
Nevertheless, our overall experience at Kaluguran's was great, and I will choose to come back here the next time I am in the area and try their silog meals.
