POINT 303 RESORT IN SIARGAO - IDEAL PLACE TO STAY FOR CLOUD 9 SURFERS

We checked in at Point 303 on our first night in Siargao. My husband booked a one-night stay here just to ensure we had a place to stay upon arrival. Because it is our first time in Siargao, we do not want to book a hotel without seeing it in person, so we decided to stay here first then scout for another hotel the next day.


We booked their Premium Deluxe Room with Balcony, priced at
3300.00 per night for 2 people, breakfast not included, though they honor PWD or Senior Citizen's discount BUT YOU MUST present it to them before completing your payment, otherwise they will no longer honor or refund the supposed discount. The room we got features a Queen Size Bed, spacious bathroom, and balcony, however, the view from our room's balcony wasn't that great. At that time, there was no internet in the room, so we relied on mobile data. The hotel also didn't have a generator, so during the island-wide power outage from 10pm to 5am, my husband said it was uncomfortably hot. Fortunately, I didn't wake up because I was very tired and had also had a few drinks.


Location wise, Point 303 is okay because it is located along the road and near Cloud 9 which is a MUST GO place in Siargao. There is also a nearby convenience store and ATM, and it is easy to get a tricycle since there is a queue near the hotel. Just a few steps away, there is a delicious BBQ stall that I highly recommend and a coffee shop across the street. If you don't want to leave the hotel, they also have their own swimming pool that is open from 7am - 9pm and a restaurant that is open until 10:00pm, serving tasty food. Additionally, guests can use the billiard table for free if they want some entertainment.
However, I was disappointed with them in one instance. This was because we had booked another room for my husband's officemate just 2 days before our arrival. Initially, one of the staff members assured us that it was all good. We also mentioned that we would pay for the additional room upon check-in, as our own room was already paid for and confirmed, along with the van transfer we had availed from them. Apart from that, my husband's officemate called and reconfirmed if it was acceptable to settle the payment upon check-in, and the staff member she spoke to agreed. However, on Saturday night, less than 24 hours before our arrival, the staff suddenly called to say that there was no room available for our companion because they hadn't settled the payment promptly. In the first place, we had asked and confirmed if paying upon check-in was acceptable, to which they had agreed. Yet, upon our arrival in Siargao late at night after a long journey, they informed us that there was no room available. They offered us an extra bed instead, and since we were already tired and didn't have the time and energy to look for another room for our companion. We agreed to their offer and paid for the additional person, which cost 550.00.

- it has its own pool and restaurant
- foods are tasty
NEGATIVE:
- no internet
- no cable tv
- AC is not adequate for the room
- no generator
- staffs needs more training
